Summary:
As a Custom Software Engineer, a typical day involves creating tailored software solutions by designing, coding, and improving various components within systems or applications. The role requires working with modern development frameworks and following agile methodologies to ensure the delivery of scalable and efficient software that meets unique business requirements. As a Database Developer, you ll play a key role in designing, engineering, and optimizing database solutions that enable high quality, scalable, and secure outcomes for our customers and platforms.
You will contribute to the development of robust data architectures, efficient ETL processes, and data products that support analytical, operational, and transactional use cases across the business.
You will also be responsible for implementing modern database engineering practices, including CI/CD integration, performance tuning, automated unit testing, and the creation of high quality reusable data assets. Collaboration with different teams and continuous refinement of solutions to enhance performance and functionality are key aspects of the daily routine.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Lead efforts to identify and implement process improvements that enhance team productivity and software quality.
- Mentor junior team members to support their professional growth and skill development.
- Developing and optimizing database schemas, data models, stored procedures, views, functions, and scripts based on business and technical requirements.
- Building, maintaining, and enhancing ETL/ELT processes using SSIS (or similar tools), ensuring efficient, secure, and reliable data integration pipelines.
- Working in cross functional teams to support application development, ensuring database components align with architectural principles, domain models, and data governance standards.
- Implementing CI/CD practices for database changes, including version control, automated deployments, and integration with build/release pipelines.
- Proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, including indexing strategies, query optimization, execution plan analysis, and resource utilization tuning.

Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Experience in designing and developing data integration workflows and ETL processes using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services.
- Strong knowledge of database concepts, data warehousing, and data transformation techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex data integration solutions for performance and reliability.
- Familiarity with scripting languages and automation tools to support integration tasks.
- Experience working within agile development environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- 10+ years of experience in database development and engineering roles
- Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including:
- Database design & relational modelling
- Stored procedures, functions, triggers
- Query optimization & performance tuning
- Experience building and maintaining ETL processes using SSIS, including control flows, data flows, transformations, and performance optimization.
- Practical experience with data modelling techniques (3NF, Dimensional Modelling, Star/Snowflake schemas).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling for database deployments (GitLab, DevOps, Liquibase, etc.).
- Familiarity with TDD/automated testing for SQL components and data pipelines

Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in cloud platforms (AWS).
- Certification in DevOps or cloud technologies is a plus.
- This position is based at our Gurugram office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
