Summary:
As a Custom Software Engineer, you will engage in the development of custom software solutions that involve designing, coding, and enhancing components across various systems or applications. Your typical day will include collaborating with cross-functional teams, utilizing modern frameworks, and applying agile practices to deliver scalable and high-performing solutions that meet specific business needs. You will be involved in problem-solving and innovation, ensuring that the software solutions are tailored to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain modern ecommerce storefronts using React and Next.js 14/15
Build and maintain Backend for Frontend (BFF) layers to orchestrate data from multiple services
Build reusable, accessible components integrated with our design system and Storybook
Implement and optimize GraphQL queries using Apollo Client for efficient data fetching
Collaborate with backend teams to integrate with SAP Commerce and other microservices
Work within a MACH (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, Headless) architecture
Develop and maintain micro frontend components that can be deployed independently
Implement A/B tests and experimentation through Monetate to drive conversion optimization
Ensure web accessibility standards (WCAG) are met across all customer touchpoints
Monitor application performance using New Relic and proactively address bottlenecks
Optimize Core Web Vitals and overall site performance for improved user experience
Write comprehensive unit and integration tests using Jest
Participate in code reviews via GitHub, providing constructive feedback to peers
Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other engineers to deliver features end-to-end

Professional & Technical Skills:
Significant ecommerce experience with Headless/Composable architecture patterns
Proven experience building and maintaining Backend for Frontend (BFF) layers
Hands-on experience with Micro Frontend architectures
Experience integrating with SAP Commerce (Hybris) and OCC (Omnichannel Commerce) APIs
Experience working with headless CMS platforms such as Contentstack, Contentful, or Amplience
Strong understanding of Identity providers and OIDC (OpenID Connect) specifications
Track record of building high-traffic, customer-facing ecommerce applications
Deep understanding of ecommerce platforms and customer journeys, preferably in fashion or
retail.
Expert-level proficiency in React and Next.js 14 & 15
Strong experience with TypeScript for type-safe development
Advanced knowledge of GraphQL and Apollo Client
Proficient in styling with both Tailwind CSS and Styled Components
Solid Node.js experience for server-side rendering and API development
Experience writing tests with Jest
Experience working with monorepo structures and tooling (e.g., Turborepo, Nx)
Hands-on experience with Continuous Deployment processes and modern CI/CD pipelines
Understanding of SEO best practices for ecommerce
Experience with CDN configuration and edge computing

Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Multiplatform Front End Development React.
- This position is based at our Gurugram office.
