Graduate-Urban Planner

Role Description:
Arcadis India is hiring a Graduate Urban Planner to support strategic planning, policy-led development, and spatial frameworks across regional, city, and precinct scales for our Architecture and Urbanism (A+U) practice. This role focuses on analytical, regulatory, and implementation-oriented planning to enable resilient, inclusive, and economically viable urban development.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Support preparation of statutory and non-statutory planning documents, including master plans, development plans, zoning frameworks, and local area plans.
  • Undertake spatial analysis, demographic studies, land use assessments, and infrastructure capacity evaluations.
  • Interpret planning regulations, development control norms, and policy frameworks to inform planning strategies.
  • Coordinate with urban designers, architects, transport planners, economists, and sustainability specialists to ensure integrated planning outcomes.
  • Assist in stakeholder consultations, public engagement sessions, and inter-agency coordination.
  • Contribute to planning reports, phasing strategies, implementation frameworks, and feasibility inputs.
  • Support bids, competitions, and research related to urban policy, growth management, and city systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Urban Planning / Regional Planning / City Planning with 0–1 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in GIS tools (ArcGIS/QGIS), AutoCAD, and MS Office; familiarity with data analysis tools is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, research, and report-writing skills.
  • Understanding of Indian planning systems, statutory processes, and urban development mechanisms is desirable.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and public-sector planning projects is an advantage.
