About this opportunity!
We are looking for a Business Development professional in the area of Defense to drive client value creation, thought leadership and industry solutions for products and services enabling business growth within the regions of India, South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand (MOAI).
The role requires deep industry insights, strong stakeholder relationships across key actors and ecosystem players, and good knowledge of telecommunications technologies to enable value creation for our current and future clients.
What you will do
• Position Ericsson as a thought and technology leader, build strong customer relationships and grow our business in the defense sector
• Develop defense strategy in MOAI including identification of winning go-to-market models and ecosystem partners
• Identify short- and long-term priorities to grow the business and take an active role internally in opportunity qualification from around the geography
• Identify and attend events, and take a driving role in relevant industry forums to demonstrate our technology and to shape industry thinking
• Support the engagement of governments and regulatory bodies to clear hurdles and accelerate technology evolution
• Influence customer vision, strategy & priorities, to identify the right approach to create value for our customers
• Support the Customer Units (sales teams) in MOAI to identify and develop relationships and leads, and act as an Industry expert and authority supporting the sales team with your technical and industry expertise
• Develop viable and competitive business/commercial models with Commercial Management
• Drive negotiation with private procurement companies and through public procurements processes where relevant
• Together with Portfolio Management, specify requirements to further enhance our products and services to address market needs. Identify complimenting partners where needed.
• Create and enrich existing techno-commercial value argumentation & supporting sales material for both internal and external use.
• Support competence ramp up in MOAI through active knowledge and best practice sharing.
• Interface with adjacent business development professionals in other verticals, and with global product line’s in the Business Areas and collaborate actively
You will bring
- Extensive Defense industry experience, preferably spanning sales, presales and delivery of complex projects at least 5 years working in related positions and well-accepted in the market.
- Customer oriented ability to understand the end user environment and ways to add new value for customers and for the company, with flexibility to adapt conversations to the receiver.
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to articulate a Defense Evolution vision to our customers. Refined communications and networking skills with strong experience of marrying a business problem with a techno-commercial solution.
- Strong business understanding and critical strategic thinking. Proven ability to define and align strategy including identifying short and long term priorities to grow the business
Senior capability in leading and inspiring change in large, complex, and cross-functional teams. - Refined collaboration skills to create a strong and aligned engagement effort towards our customers, leveraging the combined strength of Ericsson and our partners
- Excellent interpersonal communications with experience of working in diverse and distributed virtual teams, to achieve success in a highly diverse organization
- Strong Techno Commercial mentality and proven ability to create winning proposals
- Experience of navigating both public and private procurement processes
- Clear understanding of the priorities and operating conditions, including Terms and conditions of the contracts in the industry
- Strong moral compass and uncompromising integrity
- Understanding of cultural nuances in MOAI, which can influence defense market dynamics and customer interactions.
- Demonstrated ability to think outside the box and develop innovative solutions that can meet complex defense requirements.
The position is hosted in our Presales Team for Networks & Managed Services within MOAI.
