Manager-KDNI - Employee Relations

Proposed designation -  Manager 
Role type - Individual contributor

Work timings - General Timings

  • Employee Relations Responsibilities:
    • Interpret and apply applicable labor and employment laws 
    • Monthly & quarterly reporting on Employee Relations matters, interpreting data and making recommendations for positive change in the work environment.
    • Manage critical employee relations issues that are crisis-oriented to ensure successfully completion within limited time and SLAs 
    • Partner in analysis and revision of people programs, policies, and practices 
    • Provide expert advisory service and support to the Performance Managers
    • Ensure consistent implementation of use of ER policies and procedures across the platform
    • Support development and delivery of education and training for line leaders and HR professionals on policy, employment law, and employee relations matters
    • Mediate issues between employees to minimize workplace conflict
    • Investigate HR and Employee Relations issues, including, but not limited to:
      • Conducting investigation related interviews 
      • Drafting reports and proposing remedial action based on investigation findings
      • Producing complete investigation documentation 
      • Management of stakeholders as related to the case ensuring appropriate closure of the matter. 
    • Independently manage assigned casework, bringing investigations to closure rapidly and definitively 
    • Mediate and resolve internal ER issues using best practice conflict resolution practices
    • Consult and collaborate with business partners on complex employee investigations 
  • Compliance & Legal Responsibilities 
    • Responsible for Governance of Labor Law
    • In-depth understanding of S&E, CLRA, PF, ESIC, Payment of Gratuity Act etc.
    • Work closely  with external agencies, internal stakeholders, for obtaining required  registration/ licenses 
    • Liaising with our compliances partner, to ensure timely renewal of  Registration Certificate’s / License’s
    • Liaising with our compliances partner, to ensure timely filing of statutory returns and remittance of statutory dues.
    • Handling internal audits & inspections
    • Partner with Legal and in collaboration with relevant HR parties and the business, will analyze facts, provide input and recommend course of action to achieve resolution of HR Legal matters that may arise
    • Collaborate with internal legal counsel on issues as appropriate and external legal when approved and necessary.

Educational qualifications:

  • Postgraduate - Preferred in Human Resources along with degree in law

Work experience:

  • 10+ years HR experience with a particular focus, emphasis and strength in Employee Relations.
  • Robust ER / IR knowledge & experience in an international environment 
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to utilize exceptional active listening skills to determine issues and formulate and ask appropriate follow up questions.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle difficult or volatile situations/individuals effectively and to mediate in situations where required.
  • Ability to conduct investigations in a neutral and timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
  • Effective at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines, ability to prioritize conflicting demands, organize time, collaborate with and lead resources to deliver consistent results and bring initiatives to successful completion.
  • Excellent ability to analyze difficult and complex situations with a proven track record of recommending optimal solutions.

Mandatory Technical & Funcitonal Skills:

  • Proficiency in working with MS Excel and strong hold on analysis of data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work with stakeholders across levels and teams. 
  • Ability to work in a complex business environment
