Manager- Valuation

Proposed designation – Manager •Role type – Individual contributor/Supervisory •Reporting to - Senior Manager/Partner •Geo to be supported –  Germany •Work timings – Usual working times in India

The position in discussion is with the Germany Audit team at KPMG Resource Centre Private Limited (KRCPL), which is KPMG’s global delivery center and an integral part of the firm’s strategy to enhance innovation, build scalability, and improve profitability globally. The team provides assurance and benchmarking insights over the valuation of Financial Instruments. Together with our German counterparts, we unite internally developed state of the art technology, which reflects current best market practices with specialized valuation expertise of large team of KPMG specialist. Valuation of financial instruments is a key area of focus for our client’s and for us.

We are recruiting for a Manager in the Germany Audit team. Working as a Manager in this team, your responsibilities will include:

— Leading and managing a team of Graduates, Executives, Seniors and AMs working on valuation and related accounting areas

— Monitoring work, managing and motivating the team to ensure deliverable meet necessary quality standards and agreed SLAs.

— Sharing knowledge, mentoring and coaching the team members.

— Identification of issues/missing information and managing & tracking the open issues until resolved.

— Maintaining the data confidentiality and adherence to the risk management policy by the team members.

— Performance review of the team.

— Review of the team’s work and to provide timely feedback to team members to enable them to improve their performance.

— Act as main point of contact for onshore departments and building strong professional relationships with our German counterparts

- Conduct end-to-end independent quantitative valuation of portfolios comprising OTC derivatives (fixed income, Foreign Exchange, Commodities, Energy, Embedded derivatives) and share based payments

- Write and/or review completion memo and reporting slides for the engagements

- Undertake assignments with complex instruments within the portfolio independently reporting to Manager/Senior Manager or Partner

Educational qualifications

Qualifications: Must have Undergraduate degree in Mathematics  or MBA with specialization in Finance

Work experience

Total Experience: The candidate must have 6+ years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably with a Big 4 firm/professional service firm/third-party KPO and/or international clients Skillset.

Mandatory technical & functional skill:

— Hands-on expertise in derivatives valuation based on DCF or Cash flow modelling. — Product knowledge of various financial instruments such as FX Derivatives, Interest Rate Derivatives, Credit Derivatives etc. — Expert in use of MS excel — Basic knowledge and experience in the application of accounting standards IFRS 9 and IFRS 2
