Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Principal Engineer – Highway Design to lead and manage highway design projects across various phases, from feasibility to detailed design and delivery. This role requires technical expertise in highway engineering, leadership in multidisciplinary teams, and active collaboration with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise and leadership to ensure successful project execution and managing PBU.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the design and engineering of highway and roadway projects including geometric design, oversee productions of all series of drawings.
• Provide technical solutions to design teams, ensuring quality and compliance with applicable codes and guidelines.
• Develop and review engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for highway infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with PBU managers, coordinate with other disciplines and to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and calculations.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to meet delivery milestones.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and design staff, fostering professional development and technical excellence.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies related to road design and construction.
• Utilize software tools such as OpenRoads, MicroStation, other relevant engineering design applications.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, materials, and best practices in highway engineering.
• Oversee quality control and assurance processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal teams and external clients.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (M.Tech preferred).
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in highway design.
• Strong knowledge of design software such as OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, etc.
• Familiarity with Danish road design codes.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale design projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
