Inviting applications for the role of Process Associate - Financial Planning & Analysis (Budgeting & Forecasting)

Responsibilities:
•    Data collection: Assist in gathering and organizing financial data from various sources to support cost analysis and reporting activities. Input data into financial systems and spreadsheets.
•    Cost analysis support: Help analyze costs associated with various departments and projects to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings. Provide insights to assist senior analysts in decision-making.
•    Budgeting assistance: Support the budgeting process by assisting in the preparation and consolidation of budget data. Ensure accuracy in budget submissions and track budget adherence throughout the year.
•    Reporting support: Prepare and assist in generating cost reports for management review. Create reports that highlight key performance indicators, variances, and overall financial performance.
•    Variance analysis: Help identify and explain variances between actual costs and budgeted costs. Assist in investigating discrepancies and providing insights to management.
•    Continuous improvement: Participate in initiatives aimed at improving cost control processes and reporting methods. Suggest improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
•    Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to understand their cost structures and provide support in managing expenses. Foster communication to ensure alignment on financial goals.
•    Learning and development: Engage in training programs and self-study to enhance understanding of financial principles, cost management practices, and specific financial processes used within the insurance industry.

Minimum Qualifications:
·    Commerce Graduate / Postgraduate
·    Relevant years of experience in managing Insurance FP&A processes
·    Experience in working with an insurance client will be an added advantage

 

Preferred Skill Set:
·    Thorough knowledge of the Accounting Procedures
·    Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
·    Experience with accounting software, like Oracle, Blackline, EPM tools, etc.
·    Computer literacy, MS Excel in particular (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
·    Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and succinctly articulate issues to senior management
·    Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
·    Self-starter, with ability to work under own initiative
·    Strong time management skills
·    Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information
