Product Operations Manager

About GDX

Gartner Digital Experience (GDX) builds and manages the digital platforms that deliver Gartner’s value to clients. Our mission is to create simple, consistent, and high-value digital experiences across products, tools, AI experiences, and emails. We bring together product management, design, engineering, and data science to help clients quickly find and use insights.

About the Role

The Product Operations Manager will own and improve the product operating system that powers GDX. This role will drive launch readiness, structured execution of key programs, and scalable content operations. You will partner closely with Product Leadership to create consistent ways of planning, measuring, and launching products. This role is not about project tracking. It is about product leverage.
In this role, you will also manage a small team, helping them grow, stay aligned to priorities, and deliver high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Enable Customer Success

  • Implement structured update processes across Product, Engineering, BTI, PMM, Client Success, and Communications to eliminate silos.

  • Drive adoption of standard documentation such as release notes, program updates, and operating checklists.

  • Run pulse checks across squads to surface alignment issues early and close feedback loops.

  • Partner closely with PMM and Service partners to bring client feedback and operational signals into product planning.

  • Ensure data from VOC, mailbox trends, dashboards, client interviews, and usage analytics informs product decisions and launch readiness.

2. Content Operations at Scale

  • Own and improve document tagging content operations to support product discovery, adoption, and engagement across all digital platforms.

  • Manage taxonomy and metadata systems, including KMAP hierarchies, topic structures, and tagging logic, to ensure content is correctly categorized and easy to find.

  • Oversee metadata tagging and quality checks to maintain accuracy, reduce errors, and support discoverability across Gartner.com.

  • Maintain high-quality deliverables through consistent templates, guidelines, and validation steps.

  • Build repeatable frameworks and workflows for content creation, updating, tagging, review, and quality control.

  • Use content performance data to identify gaps, improve user experience, and inform roadmap decisions.

3. People Management

  • Lead a small Product Ops team (2-3 direct reports).

  • Set clear goals, priorities, and expectations for the team.

  • Provide coaching, feedback, and career development support.

  • Allocate work based on strengths and team skills.

  • Create a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What You Need:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in Product Management, Product Operations, Strategy, or Platform Operations.

  • At least 1 year of people management experience (direct reports or strong dotted-line leadership).

  • Strong understanding of digital product discovery and delivery.

  • Strong analytical skills; able to turn data into clear insights and actions.

  • Experience building or improving processes for product development.

  • Ability to influence without authority across Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, and Service.

  • Experience leading multiple programs at the same time.

  • Practical problem-solving skills and a hands-on mindset.

  • Comfort with ambiguity; ability to simplify complex problems into repeatable systems.

  • Strong written and presentation communication skills.
