About the role

R&D executive, Microbiology acts as an individual contributor. The person in this role works with global project teams comprising of multiple functions to deliver projects as per agreed KPIs.  

Your responsibilities

Support new product development teams in substantiating antimicrobial claims for new projects.
-    Independently plan and conduct experiments to evaluate the antimicrobial efficacy of prototype formulations, finished products as per global and internal standard methods
-    Analyse data, review results and prepare technical reports 
-    Interact with formulation scientists to provide advice for the development of effective product formulations with respect to active ingredient choices and antibacterial efficacy
-    Contribute towards continuous improvement of R&D laboratory procedures and best practices
-    Recommends minor modifications to existing techniques, processes, systems or programs
-    Propagate and maintain appropriate microbial stocks
-    Prepare media and reagents and process contaminated materials as necessary
-    Perform appropriate practices and procedures and maintain lab records in compliance with Microbiology Laboratory and Global Quality standards
-    Monitor and manage laboratory consumables
-    Maintain, monitor, validate and calibrate lab equipment as necessary
-    Review/update existing lab SOPs and generate new SOPs as necessary
-    Liaise with external laboratories in a professional and productive manner to ensure delivery of timely results
-    Coordinate external microbiological testing

The experience we're looking for

Fresh PhD (Microbiology/ Biotechnology) OR MSc (Microbiology/ Biotechnology) with 5 -7 Yrs experience OR BSc (Microbiology/ Biotechnology) with 7 -8 yrs in experience in Personal care or Home care industry
