Roles & responsibilities

The Head of Developing Geographies and Strategy at KRC has primary Executive responsibility and accountability for the delivery of the KDN model from KRC India. This includes the MFs which are supported via Team Extension as well as those firms which are supported on a Ticketing basis, for Core Audit Services, Digital solutions, ESG Assurance support or Compliance Control Services (The Capability Hubs). This oversight will include the responsibility for setting the strategic direction and anticipated growth to the new entrant RoW audit firms, in line with the Global Audit and KDN Strategy and these member firm Audit Quality requirements.

This leader will be required to lead, coordinate, collaborate and liaise with the delivery and execution leads overseeing the delivery of the multiple solutions under the KDN solutions listed above. They will be a member of the KRC Executive Committee (‘Exco’). They will be required to collaborate closely with the leaders of KRC for the purposes of effecting the growth ambitions of KDN as well as the transformation of new entrant  RoW Member Firms which contract KDN to support with their offshoring strategy. They will be expected to demonstrate a strong tone and culture supporting audit quality through communication, engagement support and commitment to maintain objectivity, professional skepticism, ethics and integrity. This role will have executive accountability and responsibility to stakeholders and for audit quality and the System of Quality Management as it relates to the KDN Audit teams.

As the primary KDN lead within KRC, this role will work closely with and under the supervision of the KRC leader for the mutual benefit of KRC and KDN.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Strategic Leadership – devise and lead the execution of the KPMG Collective Strategy and Audit/Business priorities at a member firm level. Maintains a current understanding of the Global Audit strategy, the relevant regulatory and legal requirements and the KDN Audit Strategy to enable Member Firms to transform their Audit Delivery model
  • Business Coaching – capable of advising and coaching leadership on the country’s Audit strategy and contributing to Audit thought leadership
  • Business and Commercial Acumen - strong knowledge of both KDN and KRC, and can sponsor and champion Audit approaches and propositions, demonstrating excellent understanding of Auditing Standards and KPMG methodology
  • Brand Awareness & Risk Management - able to manage our Brand in line with Global requirements/guidance. Works to develop an internal and external profile within the business community and with our employees. Will manage risk and market perception through key relationships.
  • Maintain strong connections with the KDN Solution Leads and other Delivery Centre leads to ensure seamless service delivery and alignment with overall business objectives.
  • This role requires a qualified auditor who has experience leading high quality audit engagements, signing audit opinions, and leading teams implementing new audit methodology. In particular:
  • Contributing to regional and/or global strategic priorities
  • Enabling the KDN strategy to be delivered effectively through the KRC India delivery centre
  • Collaborate closely with the KDN Solution leads and Solution team for the promotion and growth of the KDN solutions through KRC and for the identification of additional areas or opportunities to centralize, standardize and automate Audit work into a consolidated delivery team
  • Embedding priorities resulting from the Global Audit Quality Transformation Program
  • Demonstrating a wider contribution to audit quality as shown through quality and compliance indicators
  • Consistently implement our Collective Strategy, including incorporating into your annual member firm business plan and adopt relevant global policies
  • Ensure that each solution line and Member Firm delivery team has established structures, reporting lines, and appropriate authorities and responsibilities, including assigning operational responsibility for the applicable system of quality management 
  • Put in place professional development and human resource processes that support audit quality objectives in accordance with the professional standards and the system of quality management. This will include:
  • (a)Provision of investments and processes to build the capability of the audit workforce to meet the requirements of regulation and the skills needed for the future
  • (b)Effective processes to assign audit professionals with sufficient capacity and ability to engagements in line with the firm’s quality commitments
  • (c)Detailed workforce planning in line with the audit client portfolio
  • Motivate, and commit funding to support the resource management accountabilities in support of audit quality
  • Perform activities or carry out responsibilities in relation to the operation of the system of quality management
  • Ensure that the KDN Audit quality control policies and procedures, and requirements to perform work that complies with professional standards and applicable legal and regulatory requirements,
  • Determine that the KDN Audit teams in KRC have established policies or procedures for dealing with complaints and allegations about the commitment to quality of the firm or its personnel, including clearly defining channels within the firm that enable reporting by personnel or external parties to appropriate individual(s) without fear of reprisal and enabling the investigation and resolution of the complaints and allegations
  • Determine that the strategic decisions and actions, including financial and operational priorities of the KDN teams, demonstrate a commitment to quality and to the firm’s role in serving the public interest, by consistently performing quality engagements
  • Drive adoption of a data-driven and technology-enabled audit across the KDN Audit teams to drive quality, efficiency, innovation and market differentiation
  • Drive the adoption and use of globally developed standardized audit procedures in centralized locations to enable quality consistency, efficiency and market differentiation
  • Oversee the  workforce planning/shaping and building capability of KDN teams to future proof workforce.
  • Support global consistency to help drive cohesiveness across the regions/global through countries working closer together
