Job Description

Mechanical Engineer shall co-ordinate with Technical Manager/Principal Engineer and be primarily involved in delivering the scheduled tasks in the form of quality documents & drawings. Expecting to be a good team player within the team, the Mechanical Engineer should be able to perform activities i.e.:

• Heating & Cooling load calculation
• Ventilation calculation
• Pressure loss calculation for ducts & Pipes
• Water Supply calculation
• Pipe sizing calculations
• Pump/ equipment capacity sizing & selection of equipment.
• Drainage calculation
• Firefighting & other mechanical system.
• MEP coordination & checking.
• Certify the layout / model in Revit/ CAD.
• Safety installations and Security installations.
• Digitalization of exiting drawings into 3D Revit models from CAD-format or PDF
• Modelling of Mechanical/HVAC-installations in 3D Revit MEP
• Be responsible to the Technical Manager/Principal Engineer for the organization, production, and quality of the work.
• Act as Revit Modeler depending on the scope of the project. 
• Coordinate design efforts with all other groups and maintain project records. 
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

• Inculcate a culture of internal technical reviews to ensure design quality.
• Evaluate new technology advancements against existing design standards.
• Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the Project
• Ensure the use of consistent design standards and best practices on projects in line with the technical direction of the discipline
• Design and optimize the development process related to mechanical design; Create new, innovative solutions.
• Hold technical responsibility and coordinate implementation of technical concepts / implementation standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps, providing solutions when possible.
• Represent and bundle interests of own competency field and implement them, organize experience exchange.
• Ensure on-time delivery, as per commitment and scope, in line with full functionality of the system.
• Participating in technical reviews and contributing to tech discussions
• Assist TL in planning the development of technical competence of the team.
• Digitalization of exiting drawings into 3D Revit models from PDF/CAD-format
• Modelling of Mechanical/ HVAC-installations in 3D Revit MEP
• Measurements (area of floors, windows and facades of buildings) from existing PDF/ CAD-drawings and/or 3D Revit models
• Coordinate with MEP, structure & architectural.
• Report to the manager/engineer in charge and perform work task assigned.
• Monitor/checking if there is any clashing.
• Model/ BIM Management

Qualifications

• Must possess with minimum 4 to 8 years of professional experience in designing & BIM Engineer.
• Must have diploma/ bachelor’s in mechanical engineering.
• Documented experience in AutoCAD & 3D Revit MEP
• Must possess the ability to develop complex drawings with minimal guidance from other senior staff.
• Should have working knowledge of software’s such as
• HAP
• IESVE
• AutoCAD
• Revit
• Naviswork
• Solibri (Advantage)
• Inventor (Advantage)
• Should have experience in working in Middle East and UK with knowledge of regional standards & regulations; and candidates interested in working with the Nordics.  
• Should be passionate about engineering with an attitude of absolute intolerance for non-compliance in relation to people safety, environment or product quality.
• Should have flexible attitude, in an environment with frequently changing deadlines and can be relied on to meet deadlines.
• Should be committed to both their work and personal development, with a willingness to widen their experience and knowledge base.
• Must possess professional English language skills (written and verbal).
• Should be able to communicate clearly with team members.
• Should be able to work in a team and support, mentor and develop juniors.
