We are seeking a talented individual to join our Catastrophe team at Marsh Mc Lennan. This role will be based in Gurgaon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Job Title : Senior Specialist - Actuarial

Location : Gurgaon

We will count on you to:

• Conduct thorough quality checks and edits on client-supplied data and produce detailed exposure profiles.
• Execute analyses using catastrophe models such as Verisk Touchstone to estimate potential catastrophe losses.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of catastrophe models and understand associated uncertainties.
• Analyze exposures and modeling results in the context of clients’ insurance and reinsurance portfolios.
• Deliver modeled loss outputs in various formats and effectively interpret and communicate results to colleagues, brokers, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Engage proactively with stakeholders to understand modeling requirements and respond to ad-hoc requests.
• Identify and propose process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

What you need to have: 

• Working knowledge of catastrophe models, particularly established industry models such as Moody’s, Verisk, and CoreLogic, across major perils on regional or global scales
• 1-2 years of relevant experience
• Basic understanding of insurance principles and relevant policy terms.
• Proven client and project delivery experience, with the ability to present and communicate complex technical content to both internal and external audiences.
• Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams comprising catastrophe modelers, Underwriters and brokers.
• Data processing using Microsoft Access and Microsoft SQL Server. 
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel including VBA and Access (such pivot tables and data queries). 
• Skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

What makes you stand out?

• Strong academic background with a degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields from reputable institutions.
• Proficiency in stochastic modeling, SQL, Python, Power BI/Tableau and geospatial mapping tools such as ArcGIS are highly desirable.
• Experience working alongside Actuaries and Risk Engineers teams
