About Fidelity International

We’re proud to have been helping our clients build better financial futures for over 50 years. We achieve this by working collaboratively across the globe, supporting one another and continuously evolving the way we deliver value to our clients. As part of the GPS Delivery organisation, you will play a key role in shaping modern, efficient and technology‑enabled delivery practices while contributing to something bigger than yourself.

About your team

GPS Delivery supports a diverse set of customers, including Retail, Workplace and Institutional investors across wholesale, direct investing and advised channels. Our teams operate across multiple geographies and technology stacks, partnering closely with business, operations and technology stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable and high‑quality platforms and services.

About the role

This vacancy is for a highly motivated Grade 5 Squad Lead responsible for managing a cross‑functional squad and driving technology change initiatives in a predictable, high‑quality and efficient manner. The role combines strong delivery leadership with product thinking, people leadership and a relentless focus on continuous improvement.

Beyond traditional delivery outcomes, the Squad Lead plays a critical role in driving AI adoption, intelligent automation and modern ways of working within the squad. The role is pivotal in translating enterprise‑level AI and efficiency ambitions into practical, measurable improvements in productivity, quality, speed and cost of delivery.

Success in this role is measured not only by what is delivered, but by how intelligently, efficiently and sustainably it is delivered.

Key Accountabilities

Product Ownership & Value Management

  • Convert business and technology inputs into a prioritised, outcome‑driven delivery backlog aligned to business objectives.
  • Break down initiatives into iterative book‑of‑work items that deliver incremental value and enable clear return‑on‑investment tracking.
  • Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring a balance between functional delivery, technical health, efficiency and automation.
  • Own the technology components within the squad, including their full lifecycle, maintainability and strategic fit.
  • Explicitly identify and prioritise opportunities for efficiency improvement, automation and AI‑enabled capabilities within the product roadmap.

Delivery & Execution Excellence

  • Ensure end‑to‑end delivery of squad initiatives on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards, in line with Fidelity delivery frameworks.
  • Deliver features with high levels of test automation, deployment automation and the ability to release to production on demand.
  • Monitor delivery, quality and operational metrics to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities, taking timely corrective action.
  • Leverage data and AI‑enabled insights to proactively manage delivery predictability, quality and delivery risk.
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering and delivery practices, reducing manual effort and cycle time without compromising control or governance.
  • Actively manage dependencies, risks and constraints, communicating transparently with stakeholders.
  • Run product working groups and steering forums, providing clear, accurate and insightful updates to senior stakeholders.

AI Adoption & Efficiency Leadership

  • Act as a champion for AI adoption and intelligent automation within the squad, embedding these practices into day‑to‑day delivery.
  • Identify and implement AI‑assisted opportunities across development, testing, planning, documentation, analysis and operational support, in line with organisational guidelines.
  • Partner with architecture, platform and enablement teams to introduce modern tools, frameworks and ways of working.
  • Measure and demonstrate efficiency gains through agreed KPIs such as cycle time, throughput, defect leakage, manual effort reduction and operational stability.
  • Ensure responsible, compliant and secure use of AI‑enabled tools in a regulated financial services environment.

People Leadership & Culture

  • Lead, develop and inspire a high‑performing, self‑organising and cross‑functional squad.
  • Foster a culture where team members are empowered to make decisions in the best interest of the product and take high personal accountability for outcomes.
  • Encourage experimentation, data‑driven decision making and intelligent risk‑taking while maintaining production stability and controls.
  • Build squad capability in modern engineering, automation and AI‑enabled tools and practices.
  • Continuously communicate squad goals, priorities and progress, providing clarity on individual roles, responsibilities and growth paths.
  • Lead by example using servant‑leadership principles, earning trust and respect through integrity, transparency and support.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 10–14 years of overall experience, with a minimum of 5+ years in software delivery, product delivery or project management roles.
  • Proven experience leading small to mid sized, cross functional technology teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Applications (B.E., M.C.A.) or equivalent.

Essential Skills

  • Expert understanding of structured software delivery methodologies, preferably Agile or iterative development models.
  • Strong product, delivery and stakeholder management skills with experience leading complex change initiatives.
  • Hands on experience with delivery and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence and the Atlassian suite.
  • Solid understanding of modern engineering practices including CI/CD, test automation and cloud friendly architectures.
  • Exposure to AI enabled development, testing, analytics or delivery tools, with the ability to drive adoption rather than deep technical expertise.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret delivery and operational data for fact based decision making.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and influencing skills across business and technology stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, multi cultural and geographically distributed environment.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working within financial services or regulated environments.
  • Exposure to responsible AI principles, governance and risk management.
  • Experience contributing to or leading digital, automation or AI‑led transformation initiatives.
  • Experience managing or integrating third‑party vendor platforms or services.

Feel rewarded

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, flexible working arrangements and a strong focus on wellbeing and career development.

You’ll have the opportunity to work on complex, meaningful problems, influence how technology delivery evolves, and play a key role in shaping the future of AI‑enabled delivery at Fidelity International.
