Sr. Data Analyst (Retention Analytics and Applied IVR)

About the role:

The Retention Analytics and Applied IVR team within the Business Technology and Insights group at Gartner is at the forefront of harnessing AI to better anticipate, forecast and predict the performance and quality of content and Interactions. We are a high impact team leveraging Gartner’s proprietary data to enhance existing processes and driving new content type and client experience.

We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst who is a highly analytical problem solver, possesses strong business acumen and can act as a bridge between business and technology. This role requires both a strong understanding of data science fundamentals and the ability to work to ensure that others on the team have the ability to share insights from data science models and other analytics methods.

What you will do:

  • Leverage proprietary predictive power methodologies to ensure content recommendations are grounded in analytically sound approaches

  • Interact with business leaders to understand their pain areas and build solutions catering to their needs.

  • Harness full potential of Gartner proprietary data to enhance existing processes and content type

  • Work with data scientists and data engineers to ensure that the developed solutions are in line with the requirements

  • Analyze large amounts of data to derive business insights

  • Own problem structuring, analysis and implementation of strategic initiatives and key, cross-organizational deliverables, partnering with stakeholders and coaching team members

What you will need:

  • Experience: 3-5 years of progressive business experience involving data/business analytics, understanding of basic Data Science concepts &/or experience of working closely with the Data Science team

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree required with a concentration in statistics, data science, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or operations research preferred

  • Ability to develop data science models

  • Strong technical understanding of data and skills to analyze as well as visualize it

  • Basic of Programming languages e.g. python, R, SQL

  • Exceptional problem solving: Proven track record of solving complex problems, Critical thinking, Analytical reasoning, Innovation, and using data to influence senior level stakeholders. Demonstrated thought leadership with high business impact throughout career

  • Statistical analysis including the ability to identify patterns and trends in the data, avoid bias and apply the right models/methodologies/calculations

  • Attention to detail e.g., data hygiene, quality checks, documentation etc

  • High proficiency in Microsoft excel and power point

  • Rigorous prioritization and working in fast-paced environments: Track record of success in environments with competing and continuously evolving priorities

  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills in a highly matrixed environment. Influencing stakeholders and team members based on a command of the facts, analysis, and implications
