The Customer Growth and Retention Marketing Team play a crucial role in developing and deploying strategies to accelerate revenue generated from Prospects, our Investors and Members. By attracting new prospects and retaining our customers to become their Pension and Investment platform of choice.

About your role
In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing the overarching, integrated marketing strategy for GPS. You will be accountable for driving impactful, integrated marketing initiatives, based on consumer, market and performance insights all aimed at bolstering the organisation's growth and success. Your responsibilities will include uniting Marketing, Content and Public Relations to ensure collective progress towards our goals:

GPS Brand Marketing: Oversee the development, execution, and continuous refinement of the brand strategy for GPS - Crucial for enhancing prospect and customer awareness of our full range of products and services. The strategy will educate, inspire and instil confidence in Fidelity, thereby fuelling consideration and conversion. Strategic change initiatives: Lead and support the organisation through strategic change, driving commercial, capability and performance transformations that bolster Marketing and Engagement.

You’ll support both our Personal Investing and Workplace Investing businesses. Additionally, you will have a passion for people leadership, with responsibility for a direct report.

Your responsibilities

Lead GPS Brand Marketing

  • Brand Strategy & Positioning: Maintain a comprehensive brand strategy that aligns with organisational goals; embed the new GPS positioning framework, ensuring that the brand's vision, values, and positioning are effectively communicated, to drive brand awareness, consideration and brand loyalty.
  • Brand Health & Measurement: Monitor and analyse brand performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of brand strategies extracting actionable insights to inform strategic planning.
  • Brand Management: Oversee the brand’s identity in GPS, ensuring all marketing activities resonate with and reinforce the brand’s core values and messaging, including Visual Identity, TOV, Overall Design Standards and Governance.
  • Market Analysis: Utilise research to understand market trends, customer behaviours, and competitive landscape.
  • Strategic planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate brand strategy into business plans and marketing initiatives.
  • Audience segmentation and Customer Value: Lead target audience analysis, translation into strategic media buying audience and assessment of customer long-term value to the organisation.
  • GPS Brand platform integration: Lead the integration of the GPS Creative Brand Platform across customer and member marketing communications, and embedding into the wider business - Propositions, Servicing and Digital.

Lead Strategic Change Initiatives

  • Single plan development and governance: Lead the annual planning process, from development to implementation across Marketing, PR and Content, including all agency and Internal Team briefings. Actively collaborate with Product Marketing to integrate product forecasts and product development priorities. 
  • Change initiatives: Lead the identification, development and delivery of the GPS Marketing and Engagement change roadmap, leading strategic workstreams tasked with driving incremental impact to multiple teams across GPS Marketing and beyond. From establishing ROI driven marketing, defining the GPS Incentive Strategy to supporting enhancing Digital Capabilities. Ensuring we are driving towards a provision which is both customer centric and conversion optimised i.e. Role of Site vs Secure, Single APP, Plan-viewer, RACI, CMS, Workfront

People Leadership: Passionate people leader with the ability to lead, coach and develop a high performing direct report. Equally effective at team management, ensuring your direct report has a clear role, defined responsibilities and controls.

Your competencies and experience

  • Strategic Brand Experience: Previous experience of developing brand strategy within the financial services sector.
  • Strategic Thinking: Experienced strategic thinker, adept at both crafting new strategies and refining existing ones. Focused on prioritising what truly matters, ensuring strategies are closely aligned with business objectives. Skilled in translating strategies into actionable marketing plans ready for implementation.
  • Marketing Strategy: In-depth knowledge of marketing principles, trends, and best practices across multiple channels. Equally comfortable building from scratch at further forming existing work.
  • People and Thought Leadership: Strong leadership capabilities to guide, motivate, and inspire. Ability to foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Communication skills: Excellent communication skills utilised seamlessly to inspire, influence and collaborate with colleagues across marketing and broader teams. Experienced presenter, able to effectively tell a high impact story with well-constructed recommendations for Senior Leadership. 
  • Stakeholder engagement: Proactive stakeholder management (internal and external), with extensive experience in building and nurturing relationships founded on trust and collaboration. Equally skilled in influencing and inspiring, as well as swift problem-solving and conflict resolution, ensuring the maintenance of strong, positive relationships to drive successful outcomes including brand advocacy.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse market data, customer insights, and campaign performance to inform strategic decisions.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong ability to manage a number of tasks and priorities efficiently, ensuring timely delivery of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Results Orientated: Results-oriented mindset, comfortable with navigating obstacles, capitalising on opportunities and bringing others on the journey. With a track record of delivering successful marketing campaigns.
  • Adaptability: Proactive, growth mindset with the ability to adjust / evolve strategies and initiatives in response to changing market conditions and business needs. 
  • People Leadership and Development: Passionate people leader with the ability to lead, coach and develop a high performing team, inspiring team members to reach their full potential. Highly effective at fostering collaboration and building empowerment, whilst ensuring effective execution and alignment with site performance marketing goals. 
  • Industry Experience: Experience working within Financial Services and understanding of UK FCA compliance requirements would be an advantage but not essential.
