Department Description
The role is part of the HR Information Systems (HRIS) function within CPO Operations & Implementation. The team supports global HR processes, systems, governance, and change implementation, partnering closely with HR, Technology, and Change teams. The HRIS function manages and supports more than 15 HR systems globally and plays a key role in delivering transformation initiatives, service delivery roadmaps, and BAU system support.
Purpose of the Role
The Workday Functional Consultant enables the organisation to maximise the value of the Workday platform by configuring, enhancing, and supporting Workday solutions aligned to business needs. The role focuses on functional ownership, system optimisation, integrations, reporting, and production support, working closely with business stakeholders and HR technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for business users for Workday-related queries, issues, and functional support.
- Gather and analyse business requirements and translate them into effective Workday solutions.
- Configure and support Workday HCM modules, integrations, and reports to meet evolving business needs.
- Partner with HR, Technology, and Change teams to deliver enhancements and support transformation initiatives.
- Manage production support activities, including issue triage, root cause analysis, and resolution.
- Maintain system integrity by supporting security configurations, calculated fields, and data accuracy.
- Stay current with Workday updates, best practices, and new capabilities, including Workday Extend.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and system efficiency.
Experience and Qualifications Required
5+ years of experience implementing or supporting Workday HCM (any module).
Strong functional understanding of Workday modules such as HCM, Absence, Recruitment, Compensation, Talent, or similar.
Hands-on experience with Workday Integrations (Studio, EIBs, Connectors).
Good working knowledge of the Workday security framework and calculated fields.
Experience managing production support and BAU operations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new Workday capabilities, including Workday Extend.
