Associate General Manager
Responsibilities
Team Lead PECM Mechanical TG and Aux
Project Planning and Coordination:
Review detailed project plans and L2 and L3 schedules for turbine, generator and auxiliary systems, providing feedback to ensure alignment with project objectives.
Coordinate with the Section Head Mechanical and other departments to integrate project activities and priorities effectively.
Participate in project kick-off meetings and ensure clear communication of project goals and expectations to relevant stakeholders.
Develop and share project plans with OEMs and site teams, ensuring timely approval of foundation and equipment manufacturing drawings.
Vendor Management and Coordination:
Provide inputs to Engineering and TC for tender preparation and review details for PRs in collaboration with engineering teams.
Conduct kick-off meetings with OEMs and coordinate with Engineering and TC to address queries and ensure timely procurement.
Review vendor proposals and bids, evaluate vendor performance, and follow up to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Manage billing for supply and service contracts, ensuring timely processing and documentation of invoices.
Technical Oversight and Specification Management:
Review and finalize technical specifications for turbine, generator and auxiliary systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
Provide technical guidance and support during the installation and commissioning phases.
Oversee and review installation activities, ensuring adherence to OEM manuals and standards.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Coordinate with CQA to maintain high standards of workmanship and materials for turbine and auxiliary systems.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including technical specifications, BoQs, and progress reports.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all project-related activities and decisions.
Cost Control and Budget Management:
Assist in the preparation and review of cost estimates and budgets for turbine, generator and auxiliary systems.
Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to prevent budget overruns.
Review and present regular budget reports, including cashflow reports for monthly review.
Risk Management and Problem Resolution:
Identify potential risks related to turbine, generator and auxiliary systems and develop mitigation strategies.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for any issues or delays, implementing corrective and preventive measures.
Address and resolve technical issues or queries that arise during the project execution phase.
Team Leadership and Development:
Participate in the recruitment process by interviewing candidates and selecting qualified individuals for the PECM Mechanical TG and Aux team.
Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and competencies, supporting their professional growth.
Implement employee engagement initiatives, such as recognition programs and feedback sessions, to enhance job satisfaction and retention rates.
Identify potential leaders within the team and develop succession plans to ensure continuity and effective team management.

Qualifications
Educational Qualification:
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering is required; an MBA is preferred.
Work Experience (Range of years):
17+ years of extensive experience in project execution, engineering, and contract management in the mechanical domain, specifically related to turbines and auxiliary systems.
Preferred Industry:
Experience in the power generation industry, including thermal power plants, or other large-scale industrial sectors. Strong background in mechanical engineering, project management, and regulatory compliance within the energy or industrial sectors is highly preferred.
