Collections Supervisor

The Collection Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the debt recovery and collections team. This role ensures timely recovery of outstanding debts, maintains compliance with legal and company policies, improves collection efficiency, and supports the team in achieving monthly and annual recovery targets.

The supervisor acts as a liaison between the collections team, management, legal advisors, and customers to resolve delinquent accounts professionally and effectively.

• Key Responsibilities1. Team Supervision & LeadershipSupervise, mentor, and motivate collection officers/agents.
• Assign portfolios and monitor individual performance.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions.
• Develop team KPIs and ensure targets are met.
• Train new team members on collection processes and compliance standards.
• 2. Debt Recovery ManagementMonitor aging reports and delinquency levels.
• Prioritize accounts based on risk and recovery potential.
• Develop strategies for high-value or high-risk accounts.
• Oversee negotiation of payment plans and settlements.
• Approve payment arrangements within authorized limits.
• 3. Compliance & Risk ControlEnsure compliance with applicable debt collection laws and regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality and data protection standards.
• Monitor adherence to ethical collection practices.
• Coordinate with legal teams for escalated or litigation cases.
• 4. Reporting & AnalyticsPrepare daily, weekly, and monthly collection performance reports.
• Analyze recovery rates, trends, and agent productivity.
• Recommend process improvements to enhance recovery performance.
• Track bad debt provisions and write-offs.
• 5. Customer & Stakeholder ManagementHandle escalated customer complaints professionally.
• Maintain positive customer relationships while ensuring recovery.
• Collaborate with finance, credit control, and sales departments.
• Communicate regularly with management regarding portfolio health.
