Deputy General Manager
Responsibilities
Team Lead PECM Mechanical Boiler and Aux
Project Planning and Coordination:
Review detailed project plans and L2 and L3 schedules for boiler and auxiliary systems.
Coordinate with the Head Mechanical and other departments to align project activities with overall project objectives.
Participate in project kick-off meetings and ensure clear communication of project goals and expectations.
Provide feedback for L2 schedules to internal teams and L3 schedules to vendors.
Coordinate with site teams to understand project priorities, develop plans, and share them with OEMs.
Vendor Management and Coordination:
Provide inputs to Engineering and TC for tender preparation.
Lead technical negotiations with vendors, ensuring procurement of high-quality equipment and services.
Review vendor proposals and bids based on technical discussions and project requirements.
Oversee vendor selection, evaluation, and performance monitoring.
Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment, addressing any technical queries that arise.
Conduct regular follow-up meetings with vendors, site teams, and engineering for supply and service contracts.
Technical Oversight and Specification Management:
Review and finalize technical specifications for boiler and auxiliary systems in collaboration with the engineering team.
Ensure that specifications meet project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Provide technical guidance and support to the project team during the execution phase.
Supervise and review the installation and commissioning of boiler and auxiliary systems, ensuring compliance with OEM manuals and standards.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
Quality Assurance, Compliance, and Documentation:
Coordinate with CQA to maintain high standards of workmanship and materials for boiler and auxiliary systems.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure comprehensive project documentation, including technical specifications, BoQs, and progress reports.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all project-related activities and decisions.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for inputs on statutory requirements and compliance documents.
Cost Control and Risk Management:
Assist in the preparation and review of cost estimates and budgets for boiler and auxiliary systems.
Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to prevent budget overruns.
Prepare and present regular budget reports to the Head Mechanical and provide cashflow reports for monthly review.
Identify potential risks related to boiler and auxiliary systems and develop mitigation strategies.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for any issues or delays that occur during the project.
Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to avoid future problems.
Team Leadership and Continuous Improvement:
Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians working on boiler and auxiliary systems.
Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and competencies.
Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Participate in the recruitment process by interviewing and selecting qualified candidates for the PECM Mechanical Boiler and Aux team.
Identify and address skill gaps within the team by organizing training sessions, workshops, and other professional development opportunities.
Implement employee engagement initiatives, such as recognition programs, feedback sessions, and team-building activities, to enhance job satisfaction and retention rates.

Qualifications
Educational Qualification:
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering is required; an MBA is preferred.
Work Experience (Range of years):
16+ years of extensive experience in project execution, engineering, and contract management in the mechanical domain, specifically related to boilers and auxiliary systems.
Preferred Industry:
Experience in the power generation industry, including thermal power plants, or other large-scale industrial sectors. Strong background in mechanical engineering, project management, and regulatory compliance within the energy or industrial sectors is highly preferred.
