Production Manager

Job Purpose-

To manage the production operations of the pet food plant, ensuring that products are produced on time, within budget, and according to quality and safety standards.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning

Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.

Ensure raw materials, manpower, and machinery are available for production.

Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams.

2. Production Supervision

Monitor the production process including mixing, extrusion, drying, coating, and packaging.

Ensure production targets are achieved.

Manage production operators and supervisors.

3. Quality Control

Ensure products meet company quality standards and food safety regulations.

Coordinate with the Quality Assurance (QA) team.

Monitor product consistency, moisture levels, and nutritional standards.

4. Process Optimization

Improve production efficiency and reduce waste.

Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions.

Monitor machine performance and productivity.

5. Equipment Management

Work closely with maintenance and engineering teams.

Ensure machinery such as mixers, grinders, extruders, dryers, and packaging machines operate properly.

6. Safety and Hygiene

Enforce workplace safety rules and hygiene standards.

Ensure compliance with food safety systems like:

HACCP

GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)

ISO standards

7. Staff Management

Train and supervise production staff.

Assign duties and monitor performance.

Maintain discipline and teamwork.

8. Inventory Coordination

Monitor usage of raw materials and packaging materials.

Coordinate with the store department to avoid shortages.

9. Reporting

Prepare production reports.

Analyze production data such as output, downtime, and waste.

Report performance to senior management.
