Job Title: Academic Counselor

Department: Admissions / Student Services

Reporting To: Branch Manager / Admissions Head

Job Summary

An Academic Counselor guides students and parents by providing accurate information about courses, admissions, eligibility, and career pathways. The role focuses on student counseling, lead conversion, relationship building, and ensuring a smooth admission process.

Key Responsibilities

Counsel students and parents about courses, eligibility, fees, and career options

Handle walk-in, telephonic, and online inquiries

Convert leads into admissions through effective counseling

Maintain and update student data in CRM/ERP

Follow up with interested students regularly

Coordinate with academic and administrative teams

Assist students throughout the admission and documentation process

Participate in school visits, seminars, education fairs, and events

Achieve monthly and quarterly admission targets

Build trust and long-term relationships with students and parents

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred)

Excellent communication skills (English & Hindi)

Strong convincing and interpersonal skills

Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, CRM tools)

Ability to work with targets and deadlines

Student-centric and positive attitude

Experience

1–3 years preferred for experienced counselors
