Optometrist

Key Responsibilities

1. Healthcamp

•20 Eye camps or community health programs in a month.

•Screen 50 patients at the Health camp

•Identify Cataract, Glaucoma, Pterygium, Yag patients

•Counsel identified patients for required medication or surgery based on the severity.

•Provide pre- and post-operative counselling for cataract, LASIK, and other surgeries.

•Guide the patient for appropriate spectacles, lenses, and low-vision aids.

•Participate in events like Eye screening camps, CMEs, Other Medical education Workshops/Seminars or community outreach programs to create and raise awareness about eye health and the services offered by the hospital.

•Meeting or exceeding monthly sales targets.

2. Patient Care & Communication

•Take detailed patient history and maintain accurate clinical documentation.

•Educate patients regarding eye care, preventive measures, and treatment plans.

•Handle patient flow efficiently to minimize waiting time.

•Ensure patient privacy, dignity, and safety at all times.

3. Administrative & Quality Responsibilities

•Maintain daily OPD logs, investigation reports, and patient records.

•Ensure calibration and cleanliness of all diagnostic equipment.

•Ensure compliance with hospital SOPs, safety protocols, and reporting formats.

4. Required Skills & Competencies

•Strong knowledge of refraction and diagnostic procedures.

•Good communication and patient-handling skills.

•Ability to work in a fast-paced start-up environment.

5. Qualifications

•Bachelor of Optometry / Diploma in Optometry.

•Minimum 1+ years of experience in a hospital or eye-care institution.

•Additional certifications in contact lens fitting, low vision, or diagnostics (preferred).

6. Work Hours & Environment

•9 am to 6 pm.

7. Desired Candidate Profile

•1 - 5 years of sales experience from Pharma/ hospitals/ Diagnostics.

•Candidate from Ophthalmic background will be added advantage.

8. Key Skills

•Good communication Skills

•Should have good knowledge of assigned Territory & current market conditions.
