Job Title: First Commi Chef – Indian Vegetarian Cuisine

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled First Commi Chef to assist the Head Chef in preparing high-quality Indian vegetarian dishes. The candidate should have good knowledge of Indian spices, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations while maintaining hygiene and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a variety of Indian vegetarian dishes such as curries, dals, sabzis, breads, and snacks.
• Assist the Sous Chef / Head Chef in daily kitchen operations.
• Ensure all food is prepared according to the restaurant’s recipes and quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen as per food safety regulations.
• Handle mise en place (preparation of ingredients before cooking).
• Monitor food stock and assist in inventory management.
• Ensure proper storage of ingredients and avoid food wastage.
• Support junior kitchen staff and coordinate with the team during service hours.
• Follow all health and safety standards in the kitchen.

Requirements:

• Diploma or certification in Hotel Management / Culinary Arts (preferred).
• 2–4 years of experience in an Indian vegetarian kitchen.
• Knowledge of Indian cooking techniques and spices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in North Indian / Rajasthani vegetarian cuisine.
• Ability to maintain consistency in taste and presentation.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen inventory and stock control.
