Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Indian Cuisine Chef specializing in vegetarian dishes to join our culinary team. The chef will be responsible for preparing authentic Indian vegetarian meals, developing new recipes, maintaining food quality, and ensuring an excellent dining experience for guests.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and present high-quality Indian vegetarian dishes (North Indian, South Indian, or regional specialities as required).
  • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes.
  • Plan and design menus featuring a variety of vegetarian Indian dishes, including starters, main courses, breads, and desserts.
  • Maintain hygiene and safety standards as per FSSAI guidelines.
  • Monitor inventory, manage stock rotation, and reduce food wastage.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff on vegetarian cooking techniques and kitchen safety.
  • Collaborate with management to create seasonal or festival menus.
  • Handle customer feedback and ensure food is prepared to satisfaction.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of kitchen equipment.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Indian Cuisine Chef / Commis Chef / Cook in a vegetarian restaurant or hotel.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian vegetarian cooking styles, ingredients, spices, and traditional recipes.
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple orders efficiently.
  • Good communication and leadership skills.
  • Culinary diploma or certification preferred (not mandatory).


Preferred Skills:

  • Expertise in tandoor, curries, South Indian cuisine, or regional vegetarian dishes.
  • Creativity in developing fusion or modern Indian vegetarian recipes.
  • Time management and teamwork.
