Maintenance Engineer

Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Department: Maintenance – Machine Shop

Location: Hosur Engine Plant

Role Purpose: Ensure high machine uptime and safety by executing preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems in Engine Shop.

• Key Responsibilities: Maintenance of CNC, VMC, HMC machines (NTC, MAG, Heller, Nagel), conveyors, presses, leak testers, tightening tools, and fixtures
• Troubleshooting:
• Electrical: Servo motors, drives, encoders, sensors, control panels, Siemens PLCs, I/O cards
• Mechanical: Spindles, ball screws, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, alignment issues
• Reading & understanding electrical schematics, ladder logic, wiring diagrams
• Backup & restore PLC/machine parameters
• In-house repair of spares (mechanical/electrical)
• Support energy management, 5S, safety, and kaizens
• Basic troubleshooting of Fanuc robots (preferred)
• Qualification & Experience:
• Education: Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
• Experience: 4–6 years in automobile industry, preferably Engine Shop or Powertrain
• Skills & Competencies: Strong troubleshooting in PLCs (Siemens), motors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems
• Knowledge of machine part alignment, backlash, vibration, spindle wear
• Spare part and energy management
