QA/QC Engineer

Job Description:

We are looking for a QA / QC Engineer to handle quality inspection and testing of cast iron and ductile iron products. The role involves checking castings, moulds, melting processes, patterns, and ensuring all products meet required standards before dispatch.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect castings and moulds for surface defects, dimensional accuracy, and workmanship
• Monitor melting process and ensure correct grade and chemical composition
• Inspect new pattern development and verify patterns as per drawings
• Read and check engineering drawings and specifications
• Conduct and witness load testing of manhole covers and grates
• Inspect and review all testing such as chemical analysis, tensile testing, hardness testing, and other required tests
• Identify quality issues, report non-conformities, and coordinate corrective actions with production teams
• Maintain inspection records, test reports, and quality documentation
• Coordinate with production, pattern shop, and dispatch teams to ensure quality compliance

Requirements:

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Production, or related field
• Experience in foundry, casting, or metal manufacturing preferred
• Good understanding of casting defects and foundry processes
• Ability to read technical drawings
• Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation
• Attention to detail and strong inspection skills
