Science Teacher

Location: Shelter Homes in Uttarpara & Liluah, Kolkata

Employment Type: Part-time

Working Days: Monday to Saturday

Working Hours: 4 hours per day (should be flexible to work in anytime- morning/afternoon/evening)

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Science Teacher to work with children in shelter homes. The teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging science lessons to students at the secondary and higher secondary levels in Bengali medium.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Science subjects to students of secondary and higher secondary levels (Bengali medium)
• Plan and deliver interactive, age-appropriate lessons
• Adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning needs of children in shelter homes
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
• Assess student progress and provide feedback
• Maintain attendance and basic academic records

Requirements

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Science or related field
• B.Ed. or teaching qualification preferred
• Fluency in Bengali (reading, writing, and speaking) is mandatory
• Prior teaching experience at secondary/higher secondary level preferred
• Experience working with underserved communities or children in need is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patient, empathetic, and adaptable personality

Additional Expectations

• Willingness to travel between Uttarpara and Liluah shelter homes
• Flexibility in working hours (morning/afternoon/evening shifts)
• Commitment to student development and well-being
