O&M - Instrumentation Engineer


  1. Instrumentation Maintenance 
    • Regularly inspect, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation systems, including flow meters, pressure sensors, level indicators, chemical analyzers, and other monitoring devices.
    • Develop and follow preventive maintenance schedules to reduce system downtime and ensure optimal operation of all equipment.
    • Ensure calibration records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with relevant quality and regulatory standards.
  2. Troubleshooting and Repairs
    • Identify and resolve issues with instrumentation and control systems promptly to minimize operational interruptions.
    • Conduct root-cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
    • Coordinate with equipment vendors and contractors as needed to resolve complex technical issues.
  3. System Monitoring
    • Continuously monitor system performance using SCADA and other control systems to ensure accurate and consistent data reporting.
    • Review instrumentation data to detect any irregularities in water quality, pressure, and flow rates, addressing issues proactively to maintain safe water standards.
    • Generate regular reports on equipment performance, system reliability, and compliance with operational standards.
  4. SCADA 
    • Maintain SCADA systems to support the monitoring and automation of water treatment and distribution operations.
    • Collaborate with IT and control system teams to manage system updates, backups, and cybersecurity for instrumentation networks.
  5. Quality Assurance 
    • Ensure that instrumentation and control systems meet industry and regulatory standards, including health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
    • Maintain documentation for all maintenance and calibration activities, supporting compliance and audit readiness.
    • Work closely with the quality team to uphold water quality and operational standards across the O&M project.
  6. Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement
    • Analyze operational data and work with the operations team to optimize water treatment and distribution processes.
    • Recommend modifications or upgrades to instrumentation and control systems to improve system reliability and reduce operating costs.
    • Stay updated on industry advancements to implement best practices and enhance operational efficiency.
  7. Technical Support and Training
    • Provide technical guidance and support to field operators and technicians regarding instrumentation and control system operations.
    • Conduct training sessions on equipment operation, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures to improve team competency.
    • Develop technical resources such as manuals and troubleshooting guides for field staff.
  8. Inventory Management and Resource Planning
    • Track spare parts and critical components inventory to ensure timely availability for maintenance needs.
    • Collaborate with procurement team to source parts and equipment that meet technical specifications and budget constraints.
  9. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
    • Promote safe work practices in all instrumentation-related activities, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
    • Conduct safety audits and risk assessments related to instrumentation and control systems to mitigate hazards.
