Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Barcoding Assistant to join our Purchase Department in the jewellery industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing barcoding processes, ensuring accurate product identification, and maintaining inventory records. This role requires a strong understanding of barcoding systems, excellent Excel skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Barcoding Management:
Generate and assign barcodes for new jewellery items.
Ensure accurate labelling and tagging of products.
Maintain and update barcode databases.
Inventory Tracking
Monitor and track inventory levels using barcoding systems.
Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy.
Reconcile discrepancies in inventory records.
Data Management
Use Excel to create and maintain spreadsheets for inventory tracking.
Generate reports on inventory levels, product movement, and barcoding status.
Ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
Coordination with Purchase Team:
Collaborate with the purchase team to ensure timely barcoding of new stock.
Assist in verifying received goods against purchase orders.
Process Improvement
Identify and suggest improvements in barcoding and inventory management processes.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in barcoding technology.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience
Prior experience in barcoding, inventory management, or a similar role is preferred.
Familiarity with the jewellery industry is a plus.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, VUP).
Knowledge of barcoding software and systems.
Soft Skills
