Engineering Workshop Manager

Position: Manager – Engineering Workshop Experience: Minimum 10 years

Industry: Mechanical Engineering (Reputed Organization)

• Job Responsibilities:Manage and supervise the engineering workshop operations, including assembly of engineering components strictly as per technical drawings.
• Oversee assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems, with strong exposure to cranes, pumps, and hydraulic systems.
• Plan, execute, and control fabrication activities, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to timelines.
• Take complete responsibility for maintenance and upkeep of the fabrication workshop, including machines, tools, and manpower.
• Handle sub-contracting and outsourcing activities for machining and fabrication jobs.
• Lead vendor sourcing, development, evaluation, and coordination for machining and fabrication requirements.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, drawings, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with design, production, and quality teams to meet project objectives.
• Improve workshop efficiency, productivity, and cost control.
• Key Skills & Knowledge Required:Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Hands-on experience in mechanical assembly and fabrication.
• Sound knowledge of cranes, pumps, and hydraulic systems.
• Proven experience in vendor management, subcontracting, and outsourcing.
• Leadership skills to manage workshop staff and contractors.
• Exposure to machining processes and fabrication methods.
• Qualification & Experience: Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a reputed mechanical engineering industry, with significant exposure to workshop and fabrication management.
