Mechanical Design Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review part drawings, assembly drawings, and catalog parts.
• Validate prototypes and ensure product functionality.
• Develop design concepts, perform analyses, and make necessary calculations.
• Release product designs for fabrication and ensure quality standards are met.
• Conduct FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for critical components.
• Prepare and manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) and ensure accuracy.
• Upload drawings and BOMs in SAP for streamlined operations.
• Create customer specifications and customize orders as per approved specifications.
• Provide technical clarification to the purchasing team and vendors.
• Verify vendor drawings and coordinate effectively with them throughout the project lifecycle.
• Independently handle projects from initiation to execution, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
• Manage project execution and coordination with vendors and suppliers to ensure smooth workflow and on-time delivery of materials.
• Ensure effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, including fabrication, assembly, and quality assurance.
• Provide technical support to the assembly and shop floor teams during the fabrication process.
• Assist in pre-sales technical meetings, kick-off meetings, and resolve recurring issues or complaints.
• Identify and implement opportunities for design improvements and cost reduction.

Competency Required:

• Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD tools, specifically AutoCAD.
• Experience in using FEA tools, such as ANSYS, for analysis.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to independently handle projects from design to execution.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills to manage vendor relationships and internal teams.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying design and cost improvement opportunities.
• Work experience in the manufacturing food industry is essential.
