Senior Software Engineer

Job Function

The Software Engineer is responsible for contributing to the design, development, testing, and delivery of cloud-native software solutions that support Artifixel platform and related services. This role works closely with onshore and offshore engineering teams, UI developers, QA, and product management stakeholders to build and support the software with a focus on delivery, performance optimization, usability, and security.

•       5+ years of experience developing commercial-grade enterprise software applications
•       Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related STEM discipline, or comparable work experience
•       Experience working in agile development environments
•       Comfortable collaborating with onshore and offshore teams
•       High level of proficiency in most or all of our core technologies (see below)
•       Fundamentals or better in at least a few other technologies (that don't have to be on our list)
•       Ability to work during U.S. Eastern time zone business hours (highly preferred)
•       Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and time complexity
•       Experience with GitLab or equivalent source control tools
•       Experience with cloud-native applications (preferably Azure)
•       Experience troubleshooting and owning small features from design through user delivery
•       Empathy for the end user and a desire to measure your work by both the customer value and technical quality
•       Enthusiasm for the field and professional development/improvement outside the day-to-day job
•       Adherence to standard ISMS security practices (ISO 27001) and related policies of the business

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

•       Participation in daily scrum meetings
•       Delivery of assigned development tasks
•       Collaboration with UI and QA teams
•       Adherence to GitLab-based workflows
•       Development of clean, maintainable, and tested code
•       Assistance with troubleshooting production issues
•       Collaboration in system architecture design for microservices
•       Maintenance of legacy applications

Skills/Expertise

•       Java (17+ preferred, Java 21 a plus)
•       Spring and/or Play Framework
•       ORM with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Neo4j, etc.
•       Stateless/RESTful backend applications
•       Modern Java IDEs (Eclipse or IntelliJ IDEA)
•       Source/version control (GitLab)
•       Cloud-native microservices and API architectures
•       Docker containers
•       React, or equivalent (frontend experience a plus)

Industry information regarding current role: Software for tracking and managing product and supplier compliance and integrity, including corporate sustainability programs, supply chain, and risk-based product compliance testing data management.

Work Environment

Telecommuter position using company-provided computer(s), with occasional in-office(mostly 2 days per week) meetings and training.
