Used Car Sales Manager

A Used Car Manager oversees the entire pre-owned vehicle department, focusing on profitability by managing inventory acquisition, pricing, marketing, and sales strategy, while also hiring, training, and motivating a sales team to meet targets and ensure high customer satisfaction through strong leadership, market analysis, and financial management. 

Key Responsibilities

• Inventory Management: Source, appraise, recondition, and price incoming used vehicles; control display and turn rates.
• Sales Leadership: Set sales goals, develop strategies, monitor performance, and assist in closing deals.
• Team Management: Recruit, hire, train, coach, and motivate used car sales staff; manage payroll and performance.
• Customer Experience: Ensure high customer satisfaction, handle complaints, and facilitate financing (F&I).
• Marketing & Strategy: Plan promotions, analyze market trends, and coordinate with marketing.
• Financials: Monitor budgets, review financial statements, and report to senior management. 

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Deep understanding of the used car market and auto financing.
• Excellent computer and reporting skills.
• High school diploma minimum; business/management degree preferred.
• Prior auto sales and management experience often required.
