Job Description

Associate 1-Tax IDT- Excise Tax

Roles & responsibilities:

•Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual motor fuel returns to submit to the federal & state agencies. •Prepare Complex clients end-to-end return  prep task, process bills and notices and handle registration and renewal responsibilities basis the complexity matrix. •Review of Tax Notices and resolve by working with client/jurisdictions. •Manage the budget, basis the task performed and proactively communicate to client manager about the changes. •Prepare billing - Involved with Client/Member Firm/Inter Firm engagement Billing process and other engagement related administrative tasks. •Collaborate and support other teams during the busy cycles and when availability exists - for self as well as for Junior team members. •Prepare write back files and reconciliations. •Review of end-to-end compliance tasks of simple and medium engagements. •Research tax issues and work on special projects when required. •Assisting with engagement workflow management and supervising tax consultants on assigned engagements. •Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and streamline workflow. •Assisting with drafting new proposals for new and existing clients.  

This role is for you if you have  the below

Educational qualifications:

•Master’s Degree majoring in Accounts & Finance from a reputable university. •Proficiency in MS excel. •Understanding of Indirect taxes (1-2 years)

Work experience

•Total Experience- 1-2 years •Relevant Experience- 1-2 years in Excise Tax /MFT.  

Mandatory  technical & functional skills:

•Highly proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point). •Proficiency in Alteryx Tool. •Exposure and understanding of US Indirect Tax and knowledge of Tax Regulations. •Ability to work on more than one project at a time. •Speak with appropriate speed and clarity to US engagement teams. •Promptly respond to the issues or questions raised by the engagement team. •Can take an active role in business discussions on tax technical topics, engagement management etc. •Awareness of tax law changes.

•Willing to work hard, enthusiastic and self motivated •Strong Analytical  and advisory skills •Good communication and interpersonal skills •Support and encourage Jr. Team members to achieve the business targets •Collaborate and support other teams during the busy cycles and when availability exists - for self as well as for Junior team members
