Roles & responsibilities

We are recruiting for the Associate 2 position in the Canada Tax for Asset Management team with subject matter expertise in Mutual fund accounting & PFIC. Working as Associate 2 in this team, your responsibilities will include:

Preparation of tax working papers using the client provided documents/dataPreparation of Canada corporate and trust tax returns. This includes to determine clients' refunds, or the amount of taxes owed.Provide day to day support to Assistant Managers/Managers to assist with the submission of client deliverables includes tax related working papers and Tax returns.Develops knowledge of Canada Corporate and trust tax legislationsGenerate and review of mutual fund reportsWorking on PFIC analysis and distributionsDraft client correspondence documents (emails, letters, reports etc.) at relevant points throughout the compliance cycle.To review compliance to client guidelines and act as liaison between client and team.Demonstrates strong commitment to personal learning and development; acts as a brand ambassador to help attract top talent.

Educational qualifications

Minimum Master Degree from reputable universities with excellent academic result, majoring in Accounting or Finance.

Work Experience

Minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience, preferably from Financial Services and/ Fund accounting

Mandatory  technical & functional skills

Good accounting skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, including spreadsheet programs (i.e., Excel). 

Preferred technical & functional skills

Strong analytical and advisory skills.Able to adapt quickly to use new technologies.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Able to work in fast moving and demanding environment.Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (including strong presentation skills).Highly motivated self-starter with ability to multitask and to work proactively with minimal instruction.Prioritization and time management skills.Good communication and interpersonal skills.
