AutoCAD Draughtsman

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AutoCAD Design Engineer with strong expertise in mechanical design and drafting. The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate 2D CAD models, detailed drawings, and design documentation to support engineering and manufacturing processes. The role requires close collaboration with the design, production, and quality teams to deliver precise and cost-effective design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop 2D drawings using AutoCAD (and other CAD tools if required).
• Create assembly drawings, part drawings, layouts, and BOMs (Bill of Materials) for manufacturing.
• Interpret and convert design concepts, sketches, and requirements into engineering drawings.
• Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, GD&T, tolerances, and material specifications.
• Modify and revise existing drawings as per design changes or client feedback.
• Collaborate with engineers, production, and vendors to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
• Maintain organized drawing files, design documentation, and revision history.
• Support prototype development, testing, and product improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D); knowledge of other CAD tools (SolidWorks) will be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing processes, materials, and tolerances.
• Knowledge of GD&T, ASME/ISO drawing standards, and drafting practices.
• Good visualization, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with attention to detail.

Experience:

• 1–5 years of experience in mechanical design and drafting (freshers with strong AutoCAD skills can also be considered).

Additional Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to sheet metal design, fabrication drawings, piping layouts, or machine components.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, PLM, or document control systems.
• Good communication and project coordination skills.
