Job Description
Automation Engineer
You will work closely with the Backend IDE team from the Developer Platform Org and be responsible for the quality control of new IDE releases. At Uber, we have two main backend languages—Java and Go. Developers have a choice of IntelliJ or VS Code for their daily work and it is critical for them to have a working and performant IDE for them to be productive.
• Work closely with the Backend IDE team to identify major backend developers’ workflow • Own and develop a comprehensive test plan for IntelliJ and VS Code to cover common developer workflow for Java and Go developers • Validate each new IDE release to ensure performance and features are working as expected • (Optional) Automate certain test steps to speed up the validation process • 3+ years of industry experience • Familiar with Java and/or Go • Strong, hands-on experience with Selenium for test automation • Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Have worked with IntelliJ and/or VS Code
