Job Description
VJSMART is a fast-growing leader in home automation solutions, offering advanced smart home systems that enhance comfort, security, convenience, and energy efficiency. We specialize in smart lighting, security systems, climate control, voice-enabled automation, IoT solutions, and complete smart home integrations for residential and commercial spaces.
We are expanding our on-ground sales force and seeking a highly driven Business Development Manager (Field Sales) to join our team.
Role Overview
The Business Development Manager (Field Sales) will be responsible for driving revenue growth, acquiring new customers, building partnerships, and increasing brand presence across assigned territories. This is a field-intensive role requiring strong relationship-building skills, technical understanding of home automation solutions, and a proactive sales approach.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within residential and commercial segments.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets through field visits, client meetings, and sales presentations.
- Generate leads through networking, cold calls, door-to-door visits, and on-site demonstrations.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with homeowners, builders, architects, interior designers, and system integrators.
- Conduct product demos and explain technical features in a simple, customer-friendly manner.
- Provide post-sales support and ensure customer satisfaction.
Market Expansion
- Develop and implement territory-specific sales strategies.
- Gather market insights, competitor information, and customer needs to enhance product positioning.
- Participate in expos, events, and promotional activities to enhance brand visibility.
Coordination & Reporting
- Work closely with the technical/design team to develop tailored automation solutions.
- Prepare sales proposals, quotations, and documentation.
- Maintain records of visits, leads, and sales in CRM tools.
- Provide weekly/monthly reports to management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- 2–5 years of experience in field sales, preferably in home automation, electronics, security systems, IoT, or real estate.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand and demonstrate technology-driven solutions.
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable with extensive field travel.
- Good presentation skills and professional appearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with architects, interior designers, builders, or B2B projects.
- Knowledge of smart home technologies and IoT automation systems.
- Existing network within the construction or home interior ecosystem.
