Job Description: Cafe & Service Steward

Reporting to: Sales & Operations Manager

Role Objective:

The Cafe Steward is the primary point of contact for our guests. You are responsible for providing an exceptional dining experience by blending traditional hospitality with a deep understanding of Yellolife’s nutritional values. You ensure the front-of-house is pristine, orders are accurate, and every customer feels supported in their health journey.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Guidance: Greet guests and act as a "Health Consultant." Explain the benefits of our sourdough breads, Mediterranean meal plans, and experimental health products.

Order Management: Efficiently take orders using the POS system. Coordinate closely with bakery team for fresh bakes and Rishi’s kitchen for hot meals.

Table & Area Service: Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the dining area. Clear tables promptly and ensure the cafe ambiance (lighting, music, aroma) is always "on brand."

Quality Check (The Last Mile):

Before serving or bagging a takeaway, perform a final QC check on presentation and packaging.

Upselling & Sales: Suggest pairings (e.g., a specific dip with a sourdough loaf) and inform customers about our subscription meal plans to drive recurring sales.

Feedback Loop: Actively collect customer feedback regarding new experimental products and report back to the management team.

Skills & Qualifications

Experience: 1–3 years in a premium cafe, bistro, or health-food outlet.

Communication: Fluent in [Local Language] and English. Must be able to explain technical food terms (e.g., "low-glycemic," "probiotic," "lactic fermentation") simply.

Personality: High energy, empathetic, and organized. A "clean freak" who maintains hygiene standards naturally.

Knowledge: A basic interest in fitness, nutrition, or artisanal food is highly preferred.

Grooming: Must maintain impeccable personal hygiene and professional appearance.

Daily Checklist for the Steward
