Cashier

Cashier roles involve processing customer transactions accurately (cash, card, mobile), handling payments, issuing receipts, and providing excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, managing returns, and bagging purchases, all while maintaining a clean checkout area and balancing the till. They are the face of the business, ensuring a smooth, positive, and efficient payment experience for every customer. 

Key Responsibilities

• Transaction Processing: Accurately scanning items, operating cash registers and POS systems, collecting payments, and giving correct change or processing refunds/exchanges.
• Customer Service: Greeting customers, answering questions about products or promotions, helping locate items, and resolving complaints.
• Financial Management: Balancing the cash drawer at the start and end of shifts, tracking sales, and handling coupons or gift cards.
• Merchandise Handling: Bagging purchases (or boxing/wrapping), stocking items, and maintaining product knowledge.
• Workplace Maintenance: Keeping the checkout area clean, tidy, and organized. 

Essential Skills
