About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Chartered Accountant (CA) – Indirect Tax to manage GST compliance, advisory, audit, and litigation matters for multiple clients. This role requires strong expertise in GST regulations, attention to detail, and the ability to guide clients and internal teams effectively.



Key Responsibilities

1. GST Compliance & Return Filing

  • Manage and supervise preparation and filing of GST returns: GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, GSTR-9C, and other applicable returns
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of returns as per statutory deadlines
  • Handle and file GST refund applications where Input Tax Credit (ITC) is eligible



2. Reconciliation & Data Accuracy

  • Perform reconciliation between GST returns and books of accounts
  • Verify and reconcile vendor and customer data
  • Identify mismatches and ensure corrections are made promptly



3. Documentation & Record Maintenance

  • Maintain all GST records, reports, and supporting documentation
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and audit requirements



4. GST Advisory & Client Support

  • Advise clients and senior management on:
  • GST structure and applicability
  • Tax rates and exemptions
  • Compliance obligations
  • Provide practical solutions to GST-related issues



5. Notices, Audits & Department Handling

  • Draft and submit responses to GST notices, queries, and audit observations
  • Resolve issues raised by GST authorities in a timely manner
  • Represent clients before tax authorities during:
  • Hearings
  • Appeals
  • Assessments



6. GST Efficiency & Risk Management

  • Identify opportunities for:
  • Input Tax Credit optimization
  • Tax savings
  • Compliance improvements
  • Detect and resolve risks to avoid penalties and liabilities



7. Regulatory Updates & Impact Analysis

  • Stay updated with the latest GST laws, circulars, and notifications
  • Analyze amendments and assess their impact on business operations
  • Provide actionable recommendations for implementation



8. Training & Knowledge Sharing

  • Conduct training sessions for internal teams on GST processes and compliance
  • Develop awareness of correct GST practices across departments



9. Litigation & Dispute Management

  • Handle GST litigation matters
  • Work towards resolution through:

·      Settlements

·      Legal proceedings where required



10. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate with:
  • Finance
  • Legal
  • Procurement
  • Supply Chain
  • Ensure GST compliance across all business functions



11. Client Compliance Monitoring

  • Perform GST compliance health checkups for all clients
  • Ensure continuous compliance and identify improvement areas



12. Process Improvement & Monthly Closure

  • Streamline GST processes for efficiency
  • Manage monthly GST activities and ensure timely closure of client accounts



13. Multi-Department Representation

  • Represent clients before:
  • PF (Provident Fund) authorities
  • PT (Professional Tax) authorities
  • ESI departments
  • Income Tax departments



14. Audit & Income Tax Support

  • Assist in:
  • Annual audits
  • Tax audits
  • Closure of financial audits
  • Support in filing Income Tax Returns (ITR)



15. Additional Responsibilities

  • Handle additional assignments expected from a Chartered Accountant role
  • Support overall financial compliance and advisory services
  • Take up responsibilities beyond GST based on organizational needs



Qualifications

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) (Mandatory)



Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in GST / Indirect Taxation preferred



Skills Required

  • Strong knowledge of GST laws and compliance
  • Expertise in GST return filing and reconciliation
  • Experience in handling notices, audits, and litigation
  • Good understanding of accounting systems (Tally, ERP, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and client-handling ability
