Job Description

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Chef to take full responsibility for the daily operations of our kitchen. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of kitchen management — including opening and closing procedures, staff supervision, inventory and cutlery management, food preparation, hygiene standards, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities:


  Oversee the entire kitchen operation, ensuring smooth daily functioning from opening to closing.

  Manage kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and ensure proper training and discipline.


  Supervise food preparation and presentation to maintain high quality and consistency.


  Implement and enforce strict hygiene and safety standards.


  Maintain an accurate inventory of kitchen tools, equipment, and cutlery, ensuring proper care and timely replacements.


  Monitor stock levels and order ingredients as needed, minimizing waste and controlling costs.


  Plan and update menus in collaboration with management, considering seasonality and customer feedback.


  Conduct opening and closing procedures, including prep checklists, equipment checks, and kitchen cleanliness.


  Ensure compliance with all health and food safety regulations.


  Coordinate with front-of-house staff for smooth service flow and guest satisfaction.


Requirements:


  Proven experience as a Chef or Kitchen Supervisor in a professional kitchen.


  In-depth knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and hygiene protocols.


  Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.


  Ability to work under pressure and maintain a high standard of quality and efficiency.


  Proficiency in kitchen inventory and cutlery management.


  Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.


Preferred Qualifications:


  Culinary degree or formal training in professional cooking.


  Certification in food safety and hygiene.


  Experience in a fast-paced restaurant, hotel, or catering environment.


  Familiarity with modern kitchen equipment and food trends.
