### **Job Summary:**
The Pastry Commis assists in the preparation and production of pastries, desserts, baked goods, and other sweet items. This role is ideal for someone starting their culinary career in pastry, eager to learn and develop skills under experienced chefs.

### **Key Responsibilities:**
- Assist in preparing a variety of pastries, cakes, desserts, and baked goods
- Follow recipes and instructions accurately as dir\ected by senior chefs
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen
- Measure and prepare ingredients (mise en place)
- Support in decorating pastries and desserts
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients and finished products
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Help with inventory and stock rotation (FIFO method)
- Maintain consistency and quality in food production
### **Requirements & Qualifications:**
- Diploma or certification in Bakery & Pastry Arts or Culinary Arts
- Basic knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
### **Skills:**
- Basic baking and pastry preparation
- Attention to detail
- Time management
- Creativity (basic level)
