Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced Delivery Manager specializing in Cybersecurity and Risk Controls to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of security-focused initiatives. This role involves managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring that cybersecurity projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet rigorous quality standards. The successful candidate will contribute to the organization’s strategic security posture by implementing emerging technologies and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Software Requirements

• Required:

  • Project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, or similar platforms

  • Security compliance tools and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls)

  • Cloud security tools (preferred experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP security services)

• Preferred:

  • Security automation and orchestration tools

  • Data analytics tools for security monitoring

Overall Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee multiple cybersecurity and risk management projects, ensuring successful delivery aligned with organizational goals.

• Manage and mentor cross-functional teams, including security engineers, analysts, and vendors.

• Develop project plans, budgets, and resource allocations while monitoring progress and mitigating risks.

• Collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders to define security objectives and translate them into actionable plans.

• Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, adapting strategies accordingly.

• Promote best practices in security governance, risk mitigation, and compliance across projects.

• Provide regular project status reports, escalate issues, and communicate results to stakeholders and executive audiences.

Technical Skills (By Category)

• Programming Languages:
  Required: Basic scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or similar for automation tasks
  Preferred: Experience with security-specific scripting or coding languages

• Databases/Data Management:
  Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases for security data analysis and logging

• Cloud Technologies:
  Experience with security controls and best practices in AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms

• Frameworks and Libraries:
  Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls

• Development Tools and Methodologies:
  Jira, MS Project, Agile/Scrum, DevSecOps practices, risk management frameworks

• Security Protocols:
  Strong understanding of cybersecurity standards, data privacy, encryption, and access controls

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology management, with at least 5 years in cybersecurity and risk management roles.

• Proven record of leading large-scale security projects, including implementation of cyber risk controls and compliance measures.

• Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring multi-disciplinary technical teams in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience in financial services, banking, or regulated industries preferred.

• Alternative experience: Extensive senior leadership experience managing technology teams in security-focused environments.

Day-to-Day Activities

• Oversee the end-to-end delivery of cybersecurity projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and quality standards.

• Lead cross-functional teams through project planning, execution, and closure phases.

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure alignment with security policies and objectives.

• Conduct risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement mitigation strategies.

• Track project metrics, prepare reports, and communicate progress to senior management.

• Stay informed of the latest security threats, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field; Master’s preferred.

• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, or PMP.

• Proven experience managing cybersecurity or risk control projects in regulated environments.

• Commitment to continuous learning on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
