ETL Tester

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, execute, and maintain ETL test plans and test cases based on project requirements and specifications.
• Validate data extraction, transformation, and loading processes from various sources to the target system (e.g., Data Warehouses, Data Lakes).
• Identify, document, and report defects in the ETL pipeline and work closely with developers to ensure quick resolution.
• Perform data reconciliation and compare source data against transformed and loaded data to ensure accuracy.
• Perform regression testing to ensure that changes to ETL processes do not impact existing workflows.
• Conduct performance testing to evaluate the efficiency of the ETL pipeline under different data loads.
• Validate data mapping from source to target systems, ensuring that transformations are accurate.
• Participate in code reviews and suggest improvements to enhance testing efficiency and quality.
• Write and maintain automation scripts for recurring ETL testing tasks.
• Ensure proper documentation of test cases, defects, and test results.
• Support the troubleshooting and debugging of data issues.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in ETL testing or related roles (2-5 years).
• Strong knowledge of ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS) and data warehousing concepts.
• Familiarity with SQL and database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience in writing and executing SQL queries for data validation and troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of data migration, data integration, and data transformation.
• Knowledge of data modeling, schema design, and data quality standards.
• Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, QTP) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud-based ETL platforms (e.g., AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory).
• Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Certifications in ETL testing, data analysis, or related fields.
