Factory Supervisor

BioReform is looking for a fresher or an experienced hands-on Factory Supervisor to manage end-to-end factory operations. The role requires strong control over production planning, daily execution, reporting, maintenance coordination, inventory & procurement and dispatch management, while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on the factory floor.

The ideal candidate will act as the single point of coordination between production staff, maintenance, inventory, logistics, and general management, ensuring smooth day-to-day factory functioning.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & SchedulingPrepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on sales orders, forecasts, and machine capacity.

• Allocate machines, manpower, and shifts efficiently to meet production targets.
• Ensure optimal machine utilization and minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with management for priority orders and production changes.

2. Daily Production OperationsSupervise extrusion, sealing & cutting, printing, and packing operations (as applicable).

• Ensure production output meets quantity, quality, and timeline targets.
• Ensure Quality Assurance & Quality control across all stages of production.
• Monitor raw material usage, wastage, scrap generation and reprocessing.
• Enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) on the factory floor.

3. Production Reporting & DocumentationMaintain and submit daily production reports (DPR) including:

• Output vs target
• Machine-wise performance
• Raw material consumption
• Wastage & rejection
• Downtime & breakdowns (if any)
• Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports for management review.
• Maintain batch records, job cards, shift logs, and compliance documents.

4. Maintenance & Troubleshooting CoordinationConduct routine machine checks and preventive maintenance scheduling.

• Identify and troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, or process-related issues.
• Coordinate with maintenance technicians or external vendors for major breakdowns.
• Ensure availability of critical spares and consumables.
• Reduce unplanned downtime through proactive monitoring.

5. Inventory & Stores ManagementManage inventory of:

• Raw materials (PLA, PBAT, additives, masterbatches, etc.)
• Packing materials
• Spares & consumables
• Track minimum stock levels, reorder points, and stock movement.
• Conduct periodic physical stock verification.
• Prevent material shortages, overstocking, and pilferage.

6. Procurement & Vendor CoordinationRaise purchase requisitions based on production and inventory planning.

• Coordinate with the procurement team / management for approvals.
• Follow up with suppliers for timely delivery of raw materials and spares.
• Verify incoming material quantity and quality.

7. Dispatch & Logistics CoordinationCoordinate finished goods packing, labeling, and palletization.

• Plan and manage dispatches as per customer delivery schedules.
• Ensure correct documentation (invoice, packing list, batch details).
• Coordinate with transporters and logistics partners.
• Maintain dispatch records and reconcile with production output.

8. Manpower & Shift ManagementManage operators, helpers, and contract workers on the factory floor.

• Plan shifts, attendance, overtime and task allocation.
• Train workers on SOPs, safety, quality standards and machine operation.
• Monitor discipline, productivity and adherence to factory rules.

9. Quality, Safety & ComplianceEnsure adherence to quality standards for compostable/food-grade products.

• Implement basic quality checks during production and packing.
• Enforce safety norms and housekeeping (5S).
• Support audits and inspections as required.

10. Coordination & CommunicationAct as the main link between:

• Factory floor
• Management
• Sales Coordinator
• Procurement & vendors
• Escalate production issues, risks or delays proactively.
• Suggest process improvements for efficiency, cost reduction and quality.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma / Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred). ITI, BA, BBA, BCOM, BBM are also eligible to apply.
• 2–5 years of experience (preferred )as Factory Supervisor / Production Supervisor in:
• - Plastic / compostable / flexible packaging / extrusion-based manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of production planning, machines, materials and factory-floor controls.
• Experience handling production reports, inventory, maintenance coordination and dispatches.
• Freshers are encouraged to apply.
