Key Responsibilities:

Trend Forecasting: Studying fashion trends and predicting future styles to create appealing designs.

Design & Sketching: Developing original concepts, sketching designs, and creating technical drawings (flats) for production, often using computer-aided design (CAD) programs.

Material Selection: Choosing fabrics, colors, trims, and embellishments for each garment or accessory.

Collaboration: Working with designers, pattern makers, seamstresses, and manufacturers to develop prototypes and ensure quality.

Production Oversight: Managing the production process, from concept to final product, ensuring designs align with vision and standards.

Presentation & Marketing: Presenting designs to creative directors, marketing them to retailers, and showcasing collections in fashion shows.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Creativity and artistic vision.

Strong understanding of sewing techniques, textiles, and garment construction.

Ability to translate trends into commercial designs.

Excellent communication and teamwork.

Work Environment:

Can work for fashion houses, brands, or independently.

May involve long hours and travel for trade shows or production.
