Head Design – Missiles & Unmanned

Key Responsibilities:

• Design Leadership:
  • Lead the design team for missiles and unmanned systems, ensuring robust and innovative solutions.
  • Develop design strategies, SOPs, and processes to achieve excellence and international benchmarks.
• Integration & Validation:
  • Oversee prototype development, integration, and design validation through rigorous testing.
  • Ensure compliance with MIL STDs, JSS, JSG, and CEMILAC standards.
• Collaboration & Governance:
  • Coordinate with R&D, manufacturing, QA/QC, and technology partners for design concurrence.
  • Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and ensure adherence to regulatory norms.
• Innovation & Capability Building:
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies in missile and UAV domains.

Drive initiatives for indigenization and capability enhancement of the design center.

Technical Competencies:

• Expertise in missile systems design, aerodynamics, propulsion, and guidance systems.
• Strong knowledge of unmanned aerial systems (UAVs), loitering munitions, and VTOL platforms.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAE tools, simulation software, and system integration protocols.

Understanding of quality standards and certification processes in defence manufacturing. 

Qualification & Experience:

• Education:
  • Must: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical/Electronics/Mechatronics from a top-tier institute.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Design/Systems Engineering.
• Experience:
  • Minimum 15–18 years in defence design domain with at least 6–7 years in leadership roles.
  • Proven track record in missile and UAV design, system integration, and prototype development.
  • Exposure to DRDO projects or similar defence programs is desirable
