Job Description

The Human Resources (HR) role in a construction and interior design office is essential for managing employees, maintaining productivity, and ensuring smooth project execution. HR mainly focuses on recruiting the right professionals such as architects, interior designers, site engineers, supervisors, draftsmen, 3D visualizers, and administrative staff. They handle job postings, screen resumes and portfolios, conduct interviews, and coordinate with management to select suitable candidates.

Once employees are hired, HR manages the onboarding process, introducing them to company policies, workflow systems, project guidelines, and required software tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other design platforms. HR also manages attendance, payroll, and employee benefits, including salary processing, leave management, overtime calculations for site staff, and statutory compliances such as PF and ESI where applicable.

Another key responsibility of HR is performance management. They track employee productivity through regular evaluations, project completion reviews, and feedback from project managers. This helps the organization identify high performers, plan promotions, and improve team efficiency.

HR also supports training and skill development by organizing workshops on construction safety, new design software, material knowledge, and project management practices. In construction environments, safety training and regulatory awareness are particularly important.

Additionally, HR acts as a communication bridge between employees and management, helping resolve workplace conflicts, maintaining discipline, and promoting a positive work culture. They also ensure proper documentation, labor law compliance, and employee record management.
